United Airlines

United Airlines, headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, is one of the largest airlines in the world. Founded in 1926 as Varney Air Lines, United has grown through several mergers, including its significant 2010 merger with Continental Airlines. Today, United operates one of the most extensive networks of routes, serving 358 destinations worldwide, with a fleet of approximately 975 aircraft, making it one of the biggest fleets globally. United operates over 4,500 daily flights, utilizing hubs across major U.S. cities such as Chicago, Denver, and Houston, as well as international bases in Guam. United’s pilot workforce, which includes over 12,000 pilots, receives training from industry-leading facilities, a tradition that dates back to the 1950s when United pioneered the use of advanced flight simulators for training.

Historically, United was one of the five founding members of Star Alliance in 1997, a global airline network aimed at providing seamless international travel. This legacy of innovation and service expansion makes United a key player in the airline industry, continually adapting to meet the demands of modern air travel.
